My publisher has packed so many elements from the novel into the cover design: the protagonist Cleo Tidwell, the historic Victorian home located in small town Alabama based on my own Victorian home and the town in which I currently reside, the little Elvis beside the title [the subtitle is Cleo Tidwell & the Haunted Velvet Elvis], and the title itself which is a riff on a Reality TV show and something I'll most likely continue with the series--riffing on TV show titles, that is. The model for my protag reminds me of the covers of the Trixie Belden books I loved as a kid and that I still have and continue to collect today. If you're curious, check out these covers from the 1970s
